The Art of Being Present: How Mindfulness Elevates My Photography

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, Ajani Charles has the honour of facilitating an engaging session at Canon Canada headquarters entitled The Art of Being Present: How Mindfulness Elevates My Photography as part of Image Wonderland: A Canon HQ Creator Event.

His keynote presentation is on how almost anyone can cultivate mindfulness, otherwise known as non-judgemental awareness of the present moment, through photography, using the camera to be present and seeing the beauty in everyday moments and many other scenarios.

Ajani will also teach mindfulness techniques that do not require a camera but have exponentially enhanced his photography, other creative pursuits, and many facets of his life.

He will teach simple, cost-free, practical methods for focusing, avoiding distraction, reducing stress, cultivating creativity, and capturing moments that might otherwise be missed.

His presentation will end as he leads the audience through a brief guided meditation.

Learning Opportunities

In addition to Ajani, keynote speakers include his fellow Canon Canada ambassador Nicole Ashley, who will share tips on emotional storytelling through everyday photography, and his fellow Canon Canada ambassador Matt Solie, who will discuss how he gained 2 million followers with mobile editing techniques.

Additional live demonstrations feature behind-the-scenes looks at portrait photography by Canon Canada ambassador Natasha Gerschon and filming techniques by Canon FUTURES creator Jesil Okuefuna.
