CONTINUUM is a meditative generated animation and installation by Toronto's own Krista Kim, a contemporary artist and founder of the Techism movement since 2014, promoting the confluence of art and technology, and technological innovation as a medium to further the development of digital humanism, in collaboration with recording artist Jeff Schroeder of The Smashing Pumpkins and many others.
At the end of September 2021, it was sold and became the first public art installation NFT in history through art world leader Sotheby's and the support of world-renowned artists like Steve Aoki.
CONTINUUM was featured in Toronto and available to the general public for two weeks.
In a symbolic act of healing and rebirth, the work was installed at Fort York National Historic Site, transforming it from a military fortification implicated in colonial history into a light of hope for the future.
Ajani Charles frequently meditates in sensory deprivation/float chambers for an hour or more. From his perspective, meditating on the sounds and sights of CONTINUUM was no less intense and no less immersive.
