Project TYO is a long-term documentary, archival, and public scholarship initiative dedicated to documenting, preserving, and interpreting the hip-hop culture, community, and history of the Greater Tokyo Area, which I began documenting in July 2025.

My solo Project T-Dot art exhibit at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport ended on Sunday, November 30, 2025; the uninstallation process began the night before.

My career keeps me too creatively engaged to regularly experience the fear of missing out (FOMO); more often than not, due to fatigue, I experience the joy of missing out (JOMO).

Since I was an undergraduate student, I knew that dancehall music and culture were popular in Japan, and that a very small subset of the Japanese population took dancehall music and culture as seriously as the Jamaicans who created and innovated dancehall.

On Monday, April 7, 2025, I had the pleasure of visiting Canon Canada’s new Print Shop, located at the company’s beautifully minimalist headquarters in Brampton, Ontario.

As part of a business development trip with a personal component, I ironically landed in Tokyo at Haneda Airport on Canada Day, July 1st, 2025, with no contacts, almost no capacity to speak or read Japanese, and no business leads.

I am thrilled to announce that on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, after being extended twice for a total of eight months, an exciting fourth wall expansion of my solo Project T-Dot art exhibit was installed at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

When Canon Canada invited me to help shape their new IGNITE program, I saw more than an opportunity to teach photography or filmmaking; I saw an opportunity to share a way of life and the importance of mindfulness.

From Tuesday, May 6, 2025, to Friday, May 9, 2025, I attended Departure Festival and Conference in Toronto, an ambitious reimagining of Canadian Music Week (CMW), which ran until Sunday, May 11, 2025, and which originally launched in 1982 as The Record Music Industry Conference.

We live in a dichotomous and conflicted world, but that has always been the case, especially long before the agricultural revolution.

The Toronto Caribbean Carnival, one of the largest cultural festivals in North America, stands as a vibrant celebration of Caribbean culture, music, and heritage. 

On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, with the help of Kelsey Williams, professionally known as Killa Kels, I produced a series of photographs (and videos) of the two-month-long, citywide digital campaign for my solo Project T-Dot art exhibit at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, beginning at 5:30 PM EST, a private celebration of my new solo Project T-Dot art exhibit at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport took place in the airport terminal’s atrium, which was remarkable considering that flights were arriving and departing at the airport during the event.

On Monday, September 23, 2024, during the afternoon, I had the honour of facilitating a personalized tour of my new solo Project T-Dot Art Exhibit at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport for Toronto’s 66th Mayor, Olivia Chow.

Since the first week of August 2024, a 15-second cut of the short film I directed and produced on my new solo Project T-Dot art exhibit at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport has frequently been streaming, sometimes every minute, 24 hours per day, seven days per week, at hundreds of locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including but not limited to all Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) stations, and most of the highrise elevators in the Greater Toronto Area, thanks to a recent partnership I formed with the good people at PATTISON Outdoor Advertising.

When I began my photography journey at eleven with a Canon ELPH point-and-shoot camera, I had no idea what a Canon Canada ambassador was or that Canon had a Canadian division.

I work incredibly hard; my parents, therapist, mentors, colleagues, friends, executives working for my clients, and other facets of my support system often implore me to take far more breaks.

My new solo Project T-Dot art exhibit at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, based on my 18-year-old documentary project on Toronto’s hip-hop culture, community, and history, has been open to the general public for approximately four months in the airport terminal’s atrium. I am honoured to share a short film on the exhibit that many skilled people contributed to.

When I first began learning about the art and science of photography and how to shoot and develop film using SLR cameras, first through the Toronto School of Art as a twelve-year-old among adults and soon after as a teenage visual arts major through the once highly competitive Claude Watson Arts Program at Earl Haig Secondary School, I was satisfied with sharing my work with my classmates, a handful of close friends, and my parents.
