The Olympic torch is now about one-third of the way through its 26,000 km overland relay and 18,000 km air relay.

Once the torch reaches Vancouver’s B.C Place on February 12, 2010, about 12,000 torch-bearers will have carried the burning torch across the Canadian landscape and through approximately 1,000 communities between Toronto and Vancouver.

Once it reaches Vancouver, it will be used to light the Olympic Cauldron, marking the beginning of the 21st Winter Olympic Games.

Below, I’ve included some strong images (via The Boston Globe) that document the previously mentioned journey and which were captured by photographers from The Associated Press and The Canadian Press.

I’m looking forward to seeing the images that are captured during the actual games.
